Stock rear shocks on these trucks tend to fade quickly under heat and struggle to keep the rear end settled over rough roads, washboard terrain, or when towing. This setup tightens everything up, giving you better stability, improved traction, and a noticeably more planted ride. Built around ICON’s V.S. 2.5 aluminum shock platform, it uses a monotube design with a piggyback/remote reservoir system to increase oil capacity and reduce heat buildup under sustained use. This added thermal capacity helps prevent shock fade and keeps damping performance consistent during towing, off-road driving, or long highway runs. The design also includes ICON’s internal “bump zone,” which increases damping force as the shock approaches full compression to help prevent harsh bottom-outs. Each shock is fully rebuildable and revalveable, making it a long-term performance upgrade rather than a disposable component.
