If you are currently an aftermarket pump that is mounted externally to the fuel tank, you will need to drill your fuel tank to accommodate a sump or install a draw straw. Both have some pretty substantial drawbacks including the 1/4 tank issues that result in cavitation of the pump when you pull air into the fuel system.This SureFlo Performance Sending Unit is specifically designed to work with aftermarket lift pumps and fit directly into your factory location. It features OE-style quick disconnects to adapt the factory fuel lines at the tank, giving you a clean installation that requires no cutting or drilling of the tank. The SureFlo works by pulling fuel from, and returning fuel to, the bucket assembly at the bottom of the unit. This ensures you are always pulling fuel into your pump and not drawing air into the fuel system as well as eliminating the dreaded 1/4 tank issues. The SureFlo bucket also includes one-way check valves that allow fuel to easily flow in at lower levels.
